Sorry for missing a month....10/01/09

Here I am again...a small blip in the monthly updates happened last month, but I'm back on track...well trying to be at least. This month is starting with a runny nose and endless summer heat. Yes, it is 2 days until October and today was 102 degrees. Yikes...what's up with that? I just laugh because before long I'll be griping about how cold it is. I suspect we'll have about 3 days of "nice" weather before hats and scarves will be needed.

I have lots of hope for October and am looking forward to a small trip to Mexico in a few weeks with some friends. Some time at the ocean is just what I need. I'm back doing salsa rueda for the fall semester and the moves are getting complicated. And yes, you can actually see me dancing. The summer semester party video is posted on YouTube. Go to my links page and you will find a link to the video there.

My deepest condolences go out to my boss Rob who lost his life partner last week. I know it has been a tough time recently for a lot of people and I trust that we will all find the strength and compassion to support each other through challenging times. We are muddling through at work...each with our own reactions to the stress and the loss. Faith was a sweet and gentle woman with a passion for wildlife...especially birds.

The garden has the beginnings of some winter greens starting to struggle...the heat is not helping, but I trust that something edible will come of it all. The aphids got the watermelon plants and almost did in the cucumbers. Ahhh, the battles we do...I suppose if aphids are my only real problem in life, then I'm not doing so bad.

So, I'm not even sure what the site has to offer this time around. It's been coming together in bits and pieces. A trip to Vancouver in August produced some fun pics. There's some funny stuff and some fun stuff and some interesting stuff...you'll just have to look around, but be sure to check out the salsa video!

Until next time...be well!
